Our commitment

At Trust, we want to make responsibly made digital accessories the new norm: better for people, lower impact on the planet, and that offer both quality and value. As such, we continually strive to improve our sustainability efforts, working with our retail and manufacturing partners to make clever changes across our production, operations and product range.

The SDG’s as a starting point

Trust is committed to playing a part in achieving the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To make the greatest difference, we focus our effort on the goals where we can have the most impact:

SDG8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

We support decent work by creating a safe, inclusive environment for employees of all ages and backgrounds through a strong Diversity, Equality and Inclusion program focused on health and wellbeing, professional growth and equal treatment. We also work towards decent working conditions at our manufacturing partners, holding suppliers to our Supplier Code of Conduct, which addresses modern slavery, child labour and the wellbeing of everyone in our supply chain. We are working towards having 90% of our suppliers audited under amfori BSCI or an equivalent programme such as SMETA or SA8000 by 2030.

SDG12: Responsible Consumption and Production

We are working towards a more circular way of making and using our products, guided by a three-step approach. Firstly, we increase our use of recycled and responsibly sourced materials where we can, such as by using post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics and FSC®-certified carton. Secondly, we design products and packaging to be easier to recycle, for example by replacing PVC plastic and foam with materials that are more easily recyclable. Thirdly, we design products to be durable, extending their useful life so that fewer resources go into replacements.

SDG13: Climate Action

We are working to reduce the climate impact of both our company and our products. We have set a near-term science-based target to reduce our direct operational emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 25.2% by 2030/2031, against a 2024/2025 baseline. In our operations, we use renewable electricity in our offices and offer only electric and hybrid cars in our lease fleet. In our products, we use recycled and renewable materials where we can, and have optimised our packaging so that more items ship per pallet and container, reducing both materials used and transport emissions.

Four-time EcoVadis Gold Medal winner

We are a four-time winner of the EcoVadis Gold Medal, which places us in the top 5% of companies EcoVadis has assessed in the last twelve months, and the top 2% in our industry. To reach this rating, a company must demonstrate a robust environmental management system, strong social responsibility practices, high ethical standards and effective sustainable procurement, qualities Trust is proud to have maintained for four years running.

Impact Report

Every year we make significant progress towards making sustainable, quality digital accessories that provide genuine value the new norm. We are transparent in the challenges and opportunities of our sustainability journey, which are discussed in full in our annual Impact Report:

Our supplier and product certifications

amfori BSCI

Trust is a member of amfori BSCI, the Business Social Compliance Initiative. This is a social-compliance audit programme that helps us monitor and improve labour rights, workplace safety and ethical conduct across our supply chain. We are working towards having 90% of our suppliers covered by a valid amfori BSCI audit or an equivalent programme such as SMETA or SA8000 by 2030.

GRS®

The GRS is an international, voluntary, full product standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions.

FSC®

FSC® forest-management certification confirms that a forest is managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits local people and workers, while remaining economically viable.

We hope to initiate and further intensify the dialogue with our retail partners, consumers, manufacturing partners, employees, and other stakeholders on how Trust can play its part. Do not hesitate to contact us via: sustainability@trust.com.
