Climate neutral in 2030

Reducing our environmental footprint

The climate crisis is without a doubt one of the greatest challenges the world faces. Confronting this will require strategic urgency, responding to immediate needs while investing in innovative solutions to help scale for impact in the future. Most of Trust’s impact on the environment is indirect, through the products we sell to customers from manufacturing partners and suppliers.

lifecycle-analysis

Life Cycle Analysis

With a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) the environmental impact of our products and packaging is calculated over the entire life cycle. The information provided by an LCA provides clear and unfiltered insights into where to start reducing, replacing, or removing non-sustainable materials.

Product durability

By extending the useful life of products, we are helping to reduce the overall environmental impact.

We have a specialised quality team to improve the quality and durability of our products.

The first results:

  • ± 30% fewer defects
  • An increased average ratings score for Trust products (from 3,97 in January 2020 to 4,24 in September 2021).
  • All new keyboard models are machine-tested for longevity according to international standards.

Product energy efficiency

Trust is working toward improving the energy efficiency of our range of laptop chargers. The improved energy efficiency leads to reduced average power use. In practical use, this will result in up to 50% more efficiency. The theoretical savings are calculated at 1200 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Energy saving devices

Some Trust products actually save energy.

Many house appliances consume a lot of stand by power. By turning these devices completely off (at night) using a smart plug, you can save a lot of energy and money. By using smart plugs and a timer on your remote control or Control station, you can drastically reduce standby power consumption at home. Our SmartHome starter set is easy to install and with the push of a button you can turn everything or a single device on or off. Not only good for the environment, but for your wallet!
